@07:36I agree with floyd-freak. There were a lot of axis jumps in the beginning which stirred up some confusion. It's okay if that was the feeling you were going for. In the room with the phone, there were 1 or 2 jumps which made me feel uneasy so I think it works in that case.

I found the sudden change in colour to be a tad jarring. My first assumption was that a lot of time had passed. I think the reason for that was because it changed when she was still in the forest. Try making the change when she enters the creepy room and see how that looks. Stylistically, I like the choices made in colour to help tell the story. Reality (bright an vibrant), and the unsettling afterlife (blue and gloomy).

Compositionally, most of it is pretty good. I like a few of the forest shots in the beginning. The pans were a little "jumpy".

Story-wise I could follow it pretty well, except near the end... I got lost there.

The audio needs some work. The foley sounds pretty good throughout; I'm not sure about the chain-pulling at the beginning. The transitioning between music is a bit sudden and overpowers the foreground at times.

@05:14Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I'd be screaming at all. I'd be freaking out, yes, and maybe screaming for help, but just screaming for the sake of screaming seems unnatural in such a situation, especially after inhaling all that smoke.

Vengence is a phone line which rings to those who grieve.


After finding an old book lying in a creek bed, Caitlin is lead to an abandoned building with a mysterious phone ringing inside, it then becomes obvious that the tattered book she found is no ordinary book, but a directory to the dead.

But are the voices on the other line what they seem?

This was filmed for my yr12 VCE media assesment, it took about 4 months all up.

@07:35The story was good, but the cinematography during the beginning and the end was so chaotic, it was really hard to concentrate on anything that was going on without feeling sick. It was a bit upsetting since the story seemed so interesting.
